Sparks of Light
They're sparks of Light in a darkened land
where seed they've gone to sow
With joyous heart and loving hand
the root of Faith to grow
Foreign tongue and foreign fare
clash with what is known
Creature comforts are not there
those were found at home
Some may try to harm them
but sheep are hard to fight
it's tough for evil to try and dim
what God has brought to light
The reward is in the harvest
A spark within the eye
Pure Joy inside the chest
and fruit that will not die
When you think of these brave souls
so very far away
Pursuing only Heaven's goals
kneel down in thanks to pray

I wrote Sparks of Light after reading a letter from Joe laboring in Haiti.
