               The Ladder of Life

When we begin the top rung is hidden
and far beyond reach, we know
A view of the future to us is forbidden
as upward and onward we go

One step then another, in trust each is taken
the climb often wearies our heart
The thing that will never, be wrong or mistaken
is the faith that it took us to start

He knows we are weak, provisions been made
His angels are not far away
A faint cry for help will summon their aid
as we call out in need every day

We won't hear the trumpet or heaven's applause
or the victory song being sung
Until we in faith, make our final last pause...
and step on the very top rung

This was written after being prompted by Mom as to the fact that she's
nearing the top rung. She wondered if there might be a poem in it!

Dave: This poem was so timely after being at Dellas Linamen's funeral last night. He has reached that top rung and now is enjoying his reward. Wonderful man. Thinking of your mom's comment makes me so thankful that we have parents continuing to climb. "Keep climbing"

Dave do you attend olive knolls? I just read your poem about Mollie at coffee road animal hospital & as I was reading it I was thinking this reminds me of Dave's poems at SNC/church.

Theresa, if you read this, email me at david@kettlers.net
I don't know how to respond back to your email from this site. I think that you might be talking about another Dave? I don't attend that church. Thanks though!
